Control Of Bed Bug Infestation For The Hospitality Industry

Control And Prevention Of Bed Bug Infestation For The Hospitality Industry And Business In Philadelphia.

Evans Pest Management Proactive Control For Bed Bug Management

Evans Pest Control utilizes many methods for controlling bed bug infestations. A proven method to successfully control Bed Bugs for hotels, the hospitality industry, and business in Philadelphia is the environmentally friendly Biopesticide called Aprehend®. Evans Pest Control provides proactive quarterly treatments using this natural biopesticide. This is a effective method to protect against bed bugs and the loss of reputation and remediation costs associated with bed bug infestations in hotels, motels, business, and the hospitality industry.

Managed Quarterly Treatments

Extensive laboratory studies demonstrated that when bed bugs cross a treated surface, they pick up and carry the fungal spores in Aprehend® back to the harborage or nesting area. The spores are easily transferred to others in the colony, and all bed bugs that come into contact with the fungal spores die within ten days. This process of acquiring spores from a surface treated with this biopesticide and transporting them to the colony is repeated each night until the population is eliminated. The spray residue remains effective for up to three months, so unlike chemical insecticides, only one application is required to treat an infestation and is safe for humans.

Using A Natural And Safe Biopesticide

Aprehend® is a compound of Beauveria bassiana fungal spores, and Evans Pest Control technicians apply this natural effective treatment strategically in narrow bands where bed bugs are known to walk. Bed bugs of all life stages, sex or feeding status are killed within four to ten days following short-term contact with a treated surface. The fungal spores germinate within 20 hours of contact and then penetrate the cuticle of the bed bug and colonize inside, resulting in death.

Bed Bugs - What To Look For

Adults are small, brownish insects, about a ¼” long and are relatively flat. They are nearly as wide as they are long, and oval in shape. Immature bed bugs (nymphs) resemble the adults but are much smaller and lighter in color. Newly hatched nymphs are translucent and are no bigger than a pinhead.
There are several steps that can be taken to minimize the risk of infestation:
• Carefully inspect or avoid second-hand furniture, mattresses and bedding
• During hotel visits, do not place luggage on the bed or furniture until you have inspected the bedding, mattresses and headboards
• When traveling, periodically inspect your luggage and bag
• Wrap your beds with a Bed Bug proof encasement such as Protect-A-Bed bed encasement
