Its Rat Season... Again

Fall is prime time for rats since the temperature is dropping. Rats look for dry, and comfortable places to call home, such as your house. Take notice of any of these signs:

If you hear SCRATCHING SOUNDS, mostly at night, this could be a sign of rats. Noises in the attic? Rats are excellent climbers. You may hear a pitter patter or skittering sound coming from the attic.

RAT DROPPINGS – dark brown spindle shaped, and they look like a grain of rice.

SIGNS OF NESTING – soft material like newspaper, cardboard. If you see this type of material around, or torn cardboard boxes.

HOLES – Brown rats dig extensive burrow systems. Unexplained holes near your foundation is another sign of a fall infestation beginning.

FOOT AND TAIL PRINTS – you can see the swoosh of the tail and little feet prints in undisturbed areas like your basement, or attic.
